January's Suburbs Dinner Recap

Last year we did our biggest dinner around this time. It was a 10 course mini feast for the ears and the gastronomically-adventurous. As 2010 came to a close and we filed a few more YBF dinners under our belt, we set out to try another larger-than-life music themed dinner. This time around, I fell short of compiling a top ten (or so) list of favorite singles from the year (the theme of last years event) and so decided to focus on one single album. As the name of this post would suggest, we went for Arcade Fire's The Suburbs. Who the %$#@! are Arcade Fire you ask? They're Canadians. Wait, no they're Texans. There's a joke in there somewhere.

Over the next few days I'll take you through the images that Laurel took over the course of both weekends.
Yes, I said both weekends. Though I doubt anyone was truly taken aback by that earlier sentence. But if you've made it through the "leap" then here we are. Two weekends in a row. This was another first for us. We've never created the same menu twice for two different groups. So you could say that this last dinner got us one step closer to "normal" seeing as how real restaurants create the same dishes mutliple times a day. But then again they also have dish-washers.

The rest of these images are mostly of the ambiance and vibe going on throughout both dinners. We'll get in to the food tomorrow. Thanks all - enjoy Laurel's wares:
